On one hand, the fact that someone thought we needed a follow-up to 2018’s Waco, a miniseries that garnered little fanfare and mixed reactions, is odd. On the other hand, the storyline of The Aftermath is still so damn topical and relevant given the current state of divisive politics and government mistrust in America that it’s almost a no-brainer. As for the show itself… it’s pretty solid, but with three separate storylines, each one compelling in its own right, five episodes just isn’t enough to do them all justice. It works as a well-acted, wavetop view of events, but it would have benefitted from being longer.
