Vikings might've thrown historical accuracy overboard, but at least it had voicey writing and visual flair to keep it afloat. Valhalla commits the same sin, but without either of the saving graces; therefore, it sinks. It doesn’t help that it recycles the plot of Vikings' fourth season with generic characters and dull writing. The high-end production values are there, yet the show somehow feels cheaper than its predecessor. And although the actors are clearly doing their best with what they're given, it's not enough to save the show. Valhalla had so much potential, but no imagination. It is neither good history, nor good entertainment.
