While it’s nice to see Charlie Cox outside of Daredevil, Treason is a run-of-the-mill, British espionage show. On the positive end, that means it’s only five episodes, so it doesn’t overstay its welcome; however, it also means that it’s quite dry at times and the character development suffers. The acting is serviceable, but the characters are written in ways that have them doing conveniently dumb things that don’t really ring true-to-life (especially Oona Chaplin’s Maddy, who is a constant head-scratcher of annoyance). Still though, Treason is so short that by the time you realize it’s an imperfect miniseries, you’re already at the finale.
