The Vampire Lestat, aka Interview with the Vampire: Season Three, works well on a macro level because of Sam Reid’s Emmy-worthy titular performance, the original songs, and the individual plot-moving moments between characters. However, on a week-to-week micro level, it gets lost on occasion. The unclear timeline and almost-unreliable narrator can make the story confusing at times. Also, after two seasons of Lestat as the manipulative antagonist, the story loses some bite with him becoming the tortured protagonist. It’s still a good series — I’ll certainly be back next season — but the shifts in perspective, tone, and timeline between Interview and Lestat are almost too jarring.
