Honestly, the "good guy v. bad guy" story in this show is pretty generic... It's fine, but generic. However, the show succeeds because of the relationship between - and crucial character development of - the titular heroes. It also provides much-needed real world context to the MCU: What are the societal ramifications of the blip? What does Cap’s shield really represent? What does the "America" in "Captain America" mean to a black man? In addressing those questions, it delivers excellent action, typical humor, quick pacing, and multiple Easter Eggs. For better or worse, it feels like a 6-hour MCU movie, but weightier.
