Going into Season Ten of The Blacklist, I knew it had already overstayed its welcome. What was once a great mystery surrounding the true identity of Raymond Reddington (James Spader) had become a repetitive and directionless effort, which is especially noticeable in this final season. A series that should have ended with the loss of Elizabeth Keen (Megan Boone) continues to drop characters, with Aram Mojtabai (Amir Arison) the latest notable omission. It’s a shell of what it once was. Spader's Reddington is among the best characters in television history, and I’ll miss watching him; as for the series itself, this ending was long past due.
