While Sterling Point falls into some YA tropes, it at least does so with rich and witty storytelling. Creator Megan Park once again proves that her authentic voice knows how to elevate the coming-of-age genre. This series about self-discovery and grief feels like a return to form for teen dramas, with strong performances and compelling character arcs that audiences can genuinely connect to. Unlike most YA shows today that are cheesy or over-the-top, Sterling Point has real emotional weight to it. It’s an authentic series with a lot of heart, and though it may not reinvent the wheel, it's the rare YA show that feels sincere and is genuinely great.
