With its Seven-like story and grittiness, Ragdoll has a great setup. However, it devolves into a fairly boring crime drama that is further bogged down by the British dryness of it all. It wants to be more about the characters and their uninteresting backstories than the actual murder investigation. And those backstories are never given enough attention to make you care about why these characters are the way they are. It was the longest six-hour series I’ve seen in quite some time.
