Obliterated is by no means necessary viewing…and it won’t be for people looking for high art…but as an action comedy that only aims to provide raunchy, escapist entertainment, it’s mostly successful. Having said that, I’m not saying it’s “good.” The dialogue is pedestrian, the acting is fine but nothing to write home about, and the general plot is fairly predictable. However, at least for me and my immature sensibilities (not to mention my affinity for Las Vegas), mixing The Hangover with 24 results in a decently fun time filled with sex, drugs, booze, twists, gun fights, and explosions.
