While tonally similar to Reacher’s first season, Neagley is much more than just a copy of its parent show. The feeling is reminiscent because both shows share the same crew, and the title character (Maria Sten) is a key part of each, but with Sten able to expand on her characters’ own eccentricities, traumas, and skills, the show makes an impression all on its own. The action is gritty, the story is compelling, the ensemble is charming, and the pacing keeps you locked in to it all. After the melodrama of Reacher: Season Four, the weight of Neagley: Season One was hard to turn off.
