In Season Three, Mythic Quest has grown up a bit, with the ratio of wacky workplace jokes to sincere character development really shifting towards the latter, and the series is all the better for it. Don’t get me wrong, there are still hijinx aplenty, but for the first time in the series run, I found myself caring about characters not named Ian and Poppy (Rob McElhenney and Charlotte Nicdao, respectively) more than ever before (though, the Ian-Poppy dynamic continues to be the heartfelt core of the series). It’s a tremendous shift that should propel Mythic Quest towards the top of all Best Sitcom lists.
