Apple’s Murderbot is an extremely bingeable show despite its flaws, most of which are in the pacing and narrative department. I could feel my mind drifting midway through some episodes, which isn’t a great sign when most episodes are barely 20 minutes long. That said, those short episodes — coupled with solid sci-fi action, nice special effects, and Alexander Skarsgård’s cynically droll, often hilarious, and personally relatable inner monologue — make it easy to keep forging ahead to the end. Plus, when Murderbot (Skarsgård) says something along the lines of “humans are stupid. I just want to be left alone to watch my shows,” I felt seen.
