Maximum Pleasure Guaranteed wasn’t on my radar at all, so maybe that’s why I found it to be so enjoyable. With zero expectations (I didn’t even watch the trailer), I was able to just let the twisty narrative wash over me, leading to unexpected moments of surprise. Tatiana Maslany, who I’m more familiar with based on reputation than having actually seen her work, carries the show on her back, creating a character that is fiercely intelligent, understandingly frazzled, darkly funny, and genuinely relatable, which helps ground the constantly escalating chaos. With dark crime vibes reminiscent of Barry, Season Two is certainly on my radar now.
