Happy Face is the type of true-crime series that makes you want to stop watching and Google the actual story, and I mean that in the worst way possible. It’s not because the story is so suspenseful or mysterious that you simply can’t wait for the eight episodes to play out. It’s because the series moves at such a languid pace that you just want to know what happens without wasting eight hours. Plus, once you find out the crux of the story is completely made up, what else is there but family melodrama, forced twists, and mediocre acting? Happy Face? More like Sad Face, amirite?
