Despite remaining one of the most under-the-radar shows on television and featuring some great performances (especially from newcomer Michael Raymond-James as Joe Colombo), Godfather of Harlem feels like it’s starting to run out of story in its third season. It’s still a strong series overall, but the plot points are just getting repetitive, and the departures of Vincent D’Onofrio and Giancarlo Esposito don’t help either. Given that Season Three ends in 1965 in emotional fashion and Bumpy (Forest Whitaker) died in 1968, we could be nearing a final season. Honestly, it’s probably the right time given the marginally diminished returns in story and cast.
