Trigger warning: If you enjoy lowest-common-denominator network garbage like FBI and Quantico — or you’re part of the Supernatural fandom that thinks Jensen Ackles is worth getting excited about — congrats! Prime has just the show for you in Countdown. Between the melodrama, a “will they/won’t they” subplot, terrible dialogue, bland and stereotypical characters, ad-conscience sterilization, and awful soundtracking, this series would have been right at home on CBS. It even has that cheap network gloss. This likely would have been a ratings hit on network TV, but I’m not sure this type of rubbish can survive streaming, especially when it’s not being released as a binge watch.
