Is anybody truly capable of being their worst selves? You Can See Everything questions that in the most transfixing ways. Blending Lance Oppenheim’s narrative approach to documentary filmmaking and Nathan Fielder’s acute observational skills, the unpredictability and eeriness of the interactions Fielder has with Elizabeth Holmes result in something everyone needs to see to believe. It’s unlike anything I've ever witnessed, opting not to retread Holmes’ scandals, but instead dropping down a rabbit hole of the character we know in order to get some truly diabolical examinations of the human psyche. Go into this masterpiece as blind as you can.

Even if you aren't a Nathan Fielder fan, I don't know how you won't be astonished by You Can See Everything. This is a documentary unlike anything I've ever seen. It dives into the lives and family of Elizabeth Holmes, all while Fielder tries to decipher what led to Holmes’ fraudulent company Theranos. It's a character dissection of not just Holmes, but Fielder as well, and it's done brilliantly. This is a triumph in directing, editing, and in some cases, performance. It will make you ask questions, shock you, and subvert any expectations you may have about what makes a documentary. I was stunned.

If you followed the Elizabeth Holmes / Theranos story from the beginning, you may think that there’s nothing left to say about it. You Can See Everything says bet. Directors Nathan Fielder and Lance Oppenheim merge their distinctive approaches to documentaries to create one that constantly breaks form. In trying to understand what makes Holmes tick, especially in relation to her scandal, the film almost intentionally blurs the line between truth and fiction to the point where I walked out questioning my own perception of reality. It’s captivatingly funny, unnerving, and shocking in nearly every way. Go and let its impossible-to-describe nature wash all over you.
